Your privacy matters to us. In the following privacy policy we want to explain to you which information we collect and how we use it. Please familiarize yourself with it and let us know if you have any questions.
There are two types of information we collect at "What's your Favorite", personal information related to your user account and other information you provide through the contents you publish on our portal.
There are two options to log in at "What's your Favorite". You can either
create an account directly at WYF or log through social login via your
Google+, GitHub or Stack Exchange account. We keep the information we
collect from you to a minimum.
If you create an account directly at "What's your Favourite" you have to
define a username, a password and provide us with an email address for
verification. If you use social login, we require only your username and
comply with the open standard for authorisation (OAuth, http://oauth.net/).
In any case, we encourage you to use a username that does not contain
any person-identifying information.
Users decide for themselves how much information they provide other users with. We encourage you not to disclose any person-identifying information through the contents you publish. Please also refrain from publishing any information that can be traced back to other individuals. If you find such information at our website please contact us and we will delete this information immediately.
Your personal information such as username, password and email address
are only used for account verification purposes.
Apart from that, we are mainly interested in your opinion and experiences
with different libraries, tools, etc. Users can vote for specific items being
their favourite. This information is stored, pooled with the opinion of others
and provided to visitors of the portal looking for information and
experiences with specific items. Any content,
however, left in the comments section is published under a specific
username.
